YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Approximately 60 community members showed up at the intersection of Stabler Lane and Poole Blvd for a spirited Back the Blue rally this weekend.
“We chose this location to be near the police and highway patrol stations,” said event organizer Tej Maan. “Law enforcement officers have hard jobs. We came out to let them know the community cares about them and appreciates their hard work to keep people safe.”
Maan is a former two term Yuba City Councilmember and a candidate for Sutter County Supervisor, District 4. He provided the event attendees, who were spread between three corners of the intersection, with Back the Blue signs and flags, and water to keep people hydrated in the mid-July heat.
The response from passing motorists was overwhelmingly positive with nearly non-stop honks of support from fellow community members throughout the two hour event.
