CHP Officer Involved Shooting Results in Suspect's Death
May 06, 2022 12:00AM ● By CHP Press ReleaseMARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - On April 19, 2022, at approximately 9:35 AM, a California Highway Patrol Officer was involved in an on-duty shooting resulting in the suspect sustaining fatal injuries.
Officers from multiple local law enforcement agencies responded, securing the scene, and rendering aid to the involved officer and a man found unresponsive inside a Honda Accord that had crashed through a fence. The officer was treated for injuries sustained from being dragged by the Honda Accord and paramedics pronounced the unresponsive man deceased who has been identified as 34-year-old Ronald Charles Trapp.
The Yuba-Sutter Sheriff's Office Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Team along with California Department of Justice (“DOJ”) OIS Investigation Team are investigating the incident at the request of the California Highway Patrol.
