COLUSA, CA (MPG) - After their victory at the CIF State Football Championships held December 9th in Southern California, the community of Colusa welcomed their team home with a rousing rally.
A sea of red filled the Colusa Veterans Memorial Park as law enforcement escorted the team and coaches to the massive celebration organized by the City of Colusa.
The team hoisted its first State Championship Trophy high to cheers and applause of hundreds of townsfolk – Colusa was seemingly overwhelmed with pride and excitement for their new champions.
Coach Mike Badaluco spoke to the community, congratulating his outstanding athletes for their accomplishment, and thanking his support staff and fellow coaches.
Outgoing senior players also took a moment to say a few words about their experience and what it meant for them to bring the CIF Championship Trophy home. The RedHawk Cheerleaders added even more flair to the already spirited rally with a special routine.
As the entire town celebrated the huge win, Coach Badaluco told KCRA 3 that, “This night is everything.”
