YUBA/SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - As spring unfurls across the North Valley, community members in Yuba and Sutter counties are getting ready to celebrate Easter in true hometown style. Cue the egg hunts, bunny sightings and joyful gatherings in the fresh April air.

This year’s Easter festivities are hosted by local agencies, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

From the bustle of marketplaces to quiet, inclusive celebrations, there’s something for everyone. Below is a guide to help get this Easter season off on the right foot.

April 12 - Bunny Breakfasts and Egg-stra fun

The celebrations begin bright and early on Saturday, April 12, with a community-favorite event: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at 777 Ainsley Ave., Yuba City from 9 to 11 a.m.

This Yuba City Parks and Recreation event is free and open to all ages, offering a morning meal and plenty of time to snap photos with the holiday’s most famous guest. Families are encouraged to bring their own cameras to capture the moment.

A short hop away, the annual Eggstravaganza! will take place the same day at 804 Cooper Ave., Yuba City from 10 a.m. to noon. This action-packed event features bounce houses, face painting, Easter-themed activities and egg hunts, which makes it a popular stop for families looking to make a day of it.

Alternatively, families can stop by the second annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Sutter Youth Organization (SYO) at 7740 Butte House Road, Sutter. Starting at 9 a.m., this free egg hunt caters to those under the age of 14 and provides complimentary donuts.

Those in search of handmade treasures and last-minute Easter gifts might want to consider the seventh annual Bunny Hop Scavenger Hunt, also on April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting at 747 Plumas St., Yuba City.

Here, parents can peruse shops while children collect eggs from more than 30 merchants. Participation is limited to the first 360 children on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Yuba City Downtown Business Association recommends an early arrival.

Over on the Marysville side, the Yuba County Office of Education is hosting its own free Spring Egg-Stravaganza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 429 E St., Marysville. Families can enjoy an egg hunt for ages 2 through 12, games for all ages, food and egg-citing prizes.

April 13 - Inclusivity and indoor play

On Sunday, April 13, inclusivity takes center stage at Happy Park at 1871 Pebble Beach Drive, Yuba City.

At this location, the group Down with Yuba Sutter, sponsored by the Down Syndrome Information Alliance (DSIA), is hosting an Egg Hunt for Special Needs Families from 10 a.m. to noon. This specially designed event provides a supportive, sensory-friendly environment where children with special needs, alongside their friends and family, can enjoy some Easter fun at their own pace.

Later that day, the Yuba Sutter Marketplace at 1215 Colusa Ave., Yuba City will host its Spring Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival features a variety of age-specific egg hunts for children between the ages of 3 and 10, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon art and visits with the Easter Bunny. Families are encouraged to bring cameras to capture special moments.

This event is perfect for families seeking a one-stop celebration indoors.

April 16 to April 19 - Midweek Rollout and Tail-Wagging Fun

As Easter weekend draws near, the community spirit continues to build with some delightfully unique events. On April 16, families are invited to lace up their skates for an Easter-Themed Skate Night at TriCounties Community Center, 1830 B St., Marysville from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Guests can roll to festive music, join in themed crafts and compete for egg-citing prizes all for just $8 per person (includes skate rental).

For pet lovers, the holiday fun extends to our four-legged friends as well. On Friday, April 18, Off the Leash Dog Park in Yuba City is hosting a dog-gone Easter Egg Hunt at 2050 Wild River Drive.

Starting at 10 a.m., dogs and their humans can enjoy a tail-waggin good time hunting for treat-filled eggs. The event includes prizes, raffle baskets and food trucks. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at $20 per dog. Proceeds go towards helping maintain the dog park including a possible relocation in the near future.

The Easter excitement culminates on April 19 with two of the biggest community events of the season. In the morning, Adventure Church of Yuba City presents its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at River Valley High School (1368 Colusa Highway, Yuba City).

From 10 a.m. to noon, families will be treated to a massive egg hunt featuring 75,000 eggs, plus carnival games, bounce houses, food trucks and more. It’s a high-energy, joy-filled celebration open to all completely free of charge.

Later that afternoon, tradition takes the spotlight as the Sutter County Sheriff's Posse hosts its beloved Easter Egg Hunt at 56 Second St., Yuba City beginning at 1 p.m. With separate hunts organized by age group, children can search for eggs filled with candy and toys. A bike raffle will also take place, per age group, offering even more reasons to hop over and join in.

These events offer a variety of activities to celebrate Easter, catering to different age groups and interests. Be sure to mark your calendars and join in the festive fun throughout Yuba and Sutter counties.

Happy Easter, Yuba-Sutter!
