MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts (MCAA) has two more performances of “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” a high-energy, rock-fueled adaptation of Rick Riordan’s best-selling novel. This action-packed production’s remaining performances are on April 11 and April 12 at the Marysville High School’s South Auditorium.
Directed by Matthew DeMeritt, with vocal direction by Cassie Fifield and choreography by Amanda Davis, Mariah Larios and Jerusha Reid, this thrilling musical follows Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he is the son of Poseidon. When Zeus’ lightning bolt is stolen, Percy must embark on a perilous quest across the country to prevent an all-out war among the gods. With heart-pounding music, dynamic fight scenes and a story filled with humor and heart, this production is a must-see for audiences of all ages.
Featuring a talented cast of student performers, “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” explores themes of identity, friendship and heroism.
“This show is unlike anything we’ve done before,” DeMeritt said. “It’s fast-paced, exciting and full of music that will have you singing long after you leave the theater.”
