YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Communities across the Yuba-Sutter region are joining together to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a two-day Independence Day event dubbed the “Heart of America Festival 250.”

The City of Marysville, City of Yuba City, County of Sutter, County of Yuba, City of Live Oak and City of Wheatland announced the coordinated regional celebration, planned for July 3 and 4.

Organizers said the event is expected to become one of the largest patriotic celebrations in California during the nation’s semiquincentennial year.

Festivities begin July 3 at Beckwourth Riverfront Park with live music, food trucks and family activities. The evening will conclude with a fireworks show scheduled to begin at 9:45 p.m.

Organizers said the fireworks display is being funded through a partnership between local governments and community sponsors and is expected to be larger than previous years.

Events continue July 4 with the Yuba City Fire Department Children’s Parade and the City of Wheatland Fourth of July Parade.

Later that day, gates open at 5 p.m. at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds for an evening of entertainment and activities.

Planned attractions include children’s activity zones, live entertainment, food vendors, a community car show and what organizers describe as the longest birthday cake in Yuba-Sutter history.

The celebration will conclude with a drone show choreographed to music at 9:45 p.m. inside the fairgrounds.

Organizers said the regional partnership reflects a shared commitment to community and patriotism while creating a rare opportunity for residents across Yuba and Sutter counties to celebrate together.
