YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Local children and teens will have the opportunity to showcase their business ideas this summer through the Biz Kidz Showcase at Yuba Sutter Marketplace.

The youth-based entrepreneurship event is open to participants ages 6 to 17 and encourages young people to create, innovate and have fun while developing their own products or services.

The call for entries will be open June 8-12. Selected participants will have the opportunity to set up shop at Yuba Sutter Marketplace for one day on July 25, where they can sell their products or services and compete for cash prizes.

Awards will recognize outstanding young entrepreneurs, including prizes for Best Entrepreneur and Overall Best Business.

Sutter County is partnering with Yuba Sutter Marketplace in support of the event, which is also sponsored by ChicoStart. The Sutter County Board of Supervisors said it supports opportunities for local youth to explore entrepreneurship and embrace their creative ideas.
