YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - The Sutter County Library’s Main Branch is anticipating operational impacts after an overnight break-in left the building without air conditioning, according to a May 21 statement from the County of Sutter.

County officials said the break-in resulted in vandalism and the theft of the facility’s HVAC systems at the library’s Main Branch, located at 750 Forbes Ave. in Yuba City.

The library remains open, but officials said rising temperatures could affect operations as staff work to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors and employees.

Those planning to visit the Main Branch are encouraged to call ahead at 530-822-7137 to confirm the facility is open.

Library staff are working with the Yuba City Police Department, and the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Yuba City Police Department at 530-822-4660.
