EAST NICOLAUS, CA (YSBC) - The East Nicolaus Spartans softball dynasty continued on Saturday, May 23 as the program won its seventh-straight Northern Section title beating the Los Molinos Bulldogs 8-2.
Despite winning 24 out of 25 games heading into Saturday's final, East Nicolaus head coach Dustin Massey said multiple times throughout the season that this 2026 is different than in years past.
Throughout several conversations, Massey expressed to Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that it doesn’t take much to light a spark for the Spartans to answer back to adversity.

Los Molinos took an early lead in the second after a fielder's choice with runners on first and second, but a couple of misfires led to the lead for the Bulldogs.
The Spartans responded back in the fourth as sophomore Avelina Machado struck a double to left for a run-batted-in (RBI).
Inside the circle for East Nicolaus, junior pitcher Kylah Glenn pitched efficiently for another victory. Glenn gave up five hits, walked two and struck out seven in the win.
The Spartans took the lead in the fifth as Calli Heartsill reached on an error by Bulldogs pitcher Addison Jones.

East Nicolaus finished the fifth with a 4-1 lead as infielders Hailey Glenn and Kaylyn Ponce knocked in a pair of RBI singles.
Glenn and Ponce were the only two Spartans’ to have a multi-hit game in the victory.
Los Molinos got a pair of back-to-back doubles in the sixth for their final run of the game.
East Nicolaus added insurance runs in the sixth that started out with a sacrifice fly by sophomore Sophia Vega and ended with an RBI single from Glenn.
As the Spartans get to add another NS banner to their plethora of banners that graze the outfield wall and surrounding fences across the complex, the rich history of the program gets to continue playing together.
The CIF will release the brackets for the NorCal brackets on Sunday, May 31 and East Nicolaus will play their first NorCal game on Tuesday, June 2.
